Crafter Spotlight

Happy Sunday all! Pam with you this fabulous day sharing another crafter in the spotlight! Today it's Mary-Ann Maldonado's turn and she has some really fun projects I just know you will love! Her pages really showcase the Date Night collection nicely. Let's get to know her!

Mary-Ann Maldonado

"I am Mary-Ann Maldonado originally from Maine, now residing in Massachusetts. I have followed my retired Marine around for 21 years, so we have lived in many extraordinary places. I am a mama to my best friend (Roman), his best friend (Flo the dog) and her best friend (Leroy – the cat). I remember crafting with my mom as a small child. Making our own holiday décor, personalized cards and macaroni art! However, I started scrapbooking on my dining room table in 2000 and now I consume the entire house! Scrapbooking pages are my passion but I love mini albums and cards too. I am a hoarder of many things. Antiques, paper and embellishments, but my undiagnosed OCD helps keep it all in order:o) I have been an educator and designer for several years now and teach locally, run a KOTM and sell ETSY. I am very excited to be sharing with you a couple layouts I created with Chickaniddy."

"I started this layout with a challenge to use metal sheets and mixed media on a scrapbooking layout.   With a peachy based photo of a couple of my chums, I decided to use Chickaniddy's Date Night Collection.  I first applied clear gesso to the sections where I was going to add paints.  Once both of those wet steps dried, I started layering my papers and embellies.  ONLY the 6x6 sized paper pad was used on this layout along with coordinating embellishments.  I love smaller prints in the 6x6 pads verses the larger on the 12x12. I'd Follow you Anywhere
"This layout started from several different challenges.  1.  Use a cut file.  2.  Create a masculine page with feminine colors. 3. Use Mixed Media on a layout.  I started with the white cardstock base and cut the pie chart cut file.  I chose Date Night again because although it was feminine colors, there were masculine touches that helped make it a bit easier for me.  The shoes prints, the wood-grain and the house were perfect!  I added my photo, a title, machine stitching, a few paint drops and a few scattered embellishments and my layout was complete and I was happy."
We are lucky to have so many scrappers to feature like Mary-Ann! Now it's your (the reader's) turn. Do you want to be in the spotlight? If so upload your projects to our facebook page for a chance to be spotted and featured.Pam Badge
