Chickaniddy Crafts winter CHA 2015 booth (1)

What a blast we had at CHA and I have to say that we enjoyed every minute! Meeting so many new friends and the amazing support in which we received was so heartwarming. From the moment the doors opened on Saturday we were slammed and tried to keep up with it all until Monday. By Tuesday many people went home and it was nice to have a calmer day.

I think the best part was how fast our booth came together. Last year it took forever and this year we had a system and get it all done in 1 1/2 days. When all the decor was in place I finished the look with fresh flowers, mainly because they smell so good and I love the extra pop of color. One funny thing that took place was our catalog for the show could be camouflaged in our darling Meghann's shirt. We all had a good laugh about it.

Over all the show was a BIG hit and you will be seeing all of our new collections in MANY shops and before I go I just wanted to say THANK YOU to Meghann, Abbie, and Autie for working in our booth and being so wonderful. Thank you Mr. Sonboul and Brandon for getting those walls up and down. I also want to thank all of the new friends made at this show and all of you who have blogged about our new collections and booth. My heart is full and just for fun I'll say it one last time.... Happy Birthday Chickaniddy!

Good morning! Erin here with a lovely layered card using the new Jolly Good collection.

Living in Florida we don't get snow, but many of our family and friends live in areas that get a lot of snow each winter. I love the colors from the Jolly Good collection, and I wanted to create a light blue, gray, and white snow-themed card.

Erin Taylor Chickaniddy Crafts Winter Card
(Supplies - Jolly Good 6x6 paper pad jg14pd01. Jolly Good Die Cut Tags jg14eb04. Jolly Good Journal Tags jg14eb03. Jolly Good Mini Brads jg14eb08. Jolly Good Mini Sticker Banners
jg14eb05.)

The blue slide frame was my original inspiration. I wanted to layer the frames from both the Jolly Good die cut tags and the journal tags, creating a mini collage on my card.

1. Trim gray striped paper, from the Jolly Good 6x6 paper pad, and adhere to card base.

2. Layer sticker and slide frame on card, leaving room to add die cut snowflakes.

3. Die cut snowflakes in a variety of sizes from gray cardstock and vellum paper. Adhere to card, layering the vellum over the cardstock.

4. Use a paper piercer to poke holes in snowflakes and add brads.

5. Apply stickers to the top left of your card.

6. Use typewriter + white paper to type sentiment. Trim and adhere to card.

7. Adhere gems.

Here's a close up of the bottom of my card:

The soft pastels, big snowflakes, and clear gems (almost) make me miss living in a place that gets snow each winter. Then I remember having to shovel it, losing power, putting chains on the car, and I'm totally fine living in Central Florida!

That's it for me today. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful week!

Hi there! Leigh here today with a fun winter card that I made using Jolly Good products.

I started with some snowflake patterned paper from the Jolly Good 6x6 paper pad & the two sweet little penguins at the top of the Tis the Season 12x12 patterned paper.

Here's my card:
Leigh Penner Chickaniddy Crafts Penguin Card

1. I made a frame for my penguins by die-cutting a square from some white card stock and then trimming out the negative part into a rectangle.
2. I layered this over my trimmed out penguins and adhered it to the snowflake patterned paper, which I adhered to my white card stock card base.
3. I added a banner which I die-cut from the Making Spirits Bright patterned paper and stamped my sentiment from the Mini Illustrated Clear Stamps.
4. To finish it off, I added a die-cut snowflake which is held in place with a Mini-Brad.

Hello!  It's Amy here sharing a winter inspired card.  I love the Jolly Good Collection for the awesome colors and versatility!

Here is how I was inspired by the collection:

Amy Tsuruta Chickaniddy Crafts Winter Card

The Illustration Stickers are so fun to use!  They make it super easy to create a card.  I used the floral spray as the focal point of my design.

I also incorporated the Journal Tags onto my card as the sentiment.

Winter is more of a statement rather than a sentiment.  I'm not opposed to non-traditional sentiments on my card designs.

Since I have experienced winter weather in the U.S. Northwest, Southwest and Midwest, I created two wintery cards that more or less reflect the season of winter in those parts of the country:

Tyra Babington Chickaniddy Snowy Hello Card

To create the first card:

  1. Cut and score a card base to 4.25 by 5.5 inches.
  2. Cut two panels, 4 x 3 inches and 4 x 2.5 inches.
  3. Cut out the snowman sentiment from Tis The Season
  4. Adhere each piece to the card base as shown.
  5. Add embellishment.

Tyra Babington Chickaniddy Lets Weather It

To create the second card:

  1. Cut and score a card base to 4.25 by 5.5 inches.
  2. Cut the Striped panel to 4 x 5.25 inches and adhere to card
  3. Choose die cut tag sentiment and adhere as shown
  4. Add embellishment.

So, don't put away your Jolly Good collection just yet! As you can see there are many options for creating cards well into the winter season. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy Friday! We have another great idea from our guest designer, Jennifer Ingle. If you missed her first post, make sure you check it out here.

Today, Jennifer is sharing one more card! This card does a great job of showcasing how you can use the softer colors of the Jolly Good collection to create your winter card.

Jennifer Ingle Chickaniddy Crafts Guest Designer Card 2

"To create this card, I used three different pastel papers from the Jolly Good collection. I just love the mix of colors and patterns in this collection! It is SO versatile! I cut the papers in strips and adhered them to my card base. I dusted the back of the snowflake sticker with powder and used foam dots to pop it  up on the card to add dimension and added a coordinating brad from the collection to the center. I borrowed the 'Hello' sentiment stamp from Date Night stamp set and accented that with the pink enamel star to finish it off!"

Thanks, Jennifer for sharing another great card. Don't forget to check back at the end of the month for one final card from Jennifer!

Project of the Month - This month I was so impressed by this darling idea. Carson on our Craft Team created a mini album to celebrate the first year of her son's life. What a great way to document your memories in a small portable album. This would make the best gift for a proud grandparent. I have a holiday secret.  I LOVE being a secret Santa! I've never been one to rob a bank for thrills, but sneaking up to a door, placing a gift down, ringing the doorbell and running off to hide in a bush is where I get my kicks!

Today for my 12 days of gift wrap I wanted to share the perfect gift wrap for your sneaky secret Santa deliveries. It's pretty, fast to make, and everyone will love them. This door hanger will keep your gift from getting wet in the snow or rain because it's off the ground and it looks so pretty hanging there. Don't you think?!

For most, craft pattern paper is a passion and they have TONS of it. Today I have a fast/fun gift box to share. Around the beginning of November I love to pull out all of my really busy pattern papers to make Chinese takeout food boxes. These boxes are the perfect size for any homemade baked goods and the busy pattern paper allows the box to stand out. The shape of this box is so darling and a handle makes it easy to deliver.

The instructions are super simple and anyone can follow them

  1. Print out the template and cut out
  2. Trace the template on your pattern paper
  3. Cut out the box and fold the areas needed
  4. Punch out side holes
  5. insert wire for handles and shape in place

If you have a cutting machine, you can find a cut file HERE. If you want to print it out, you can download it here:

At first glance today's gift wrap doesn't seem like much, but the meaning behind it will make your little ones smile. Around the holidays I love to surprise my boys by sneaking a wrapped treat into their lunches with a little note. A simple reminder that I love them and hope their day is going perfectly. I pop some red and green candies into a baggy and seal it with cute scrapbook supplies. You could even do this for your hubby.

I think what makes this so special is that all their friends at the lunch table notice and say "I wish my mom did that"! They always come home with big smiles on their faces and even though it was a small gesture and took me very little to no time to do, they will remember it for years to come.Heidi Sonboul Chickaniddy Crafts 12 days of gift wrap (1) (Large) Heidi Sonboul Chickaniddy Crafts 12 days of gift wrap (2) (Large)

Hello Monday and Friends! I hope you had a nice relaxing weekend and that you got everything done on your to do list. In just a little while we will all be putting together those holiday shopping lists and with that thought in mind today I wanted to share my favorite way to wrap a fast "no fuss" present using just a couple supplies. It's amazing what you can do with a piece of pattern paper and yarn!

I know that most people love videos, so here you go. Let me know if you have any questions and I will be happy to help.
