Project of the Month - This month I was so impressed by this darling idea. Carson on our Craft Team created a mini album to celebrate the first year of her son's life. Hello friends and happy new year!! Pam with ya sharing the January sketch and a fun giveaway! Are you excited about the new releases?? We are so excited to share them. If you haven't seen them, please visit the following links: Yippee Collection and 365 Collection. Today I am going to start by sharing the sketch I created for January.

chickaniddy Crafts January Sketch by Pam Callaghan

I think you will find this sketch to be quite versatile. It features four main panels with tabs, room for photos, and the ability to change it up quite easily!

When I was preparing my layout for today's post I picked out my very favorite memories from 2014 which, of course, were all related to my son. I used this sketch I created as a base for my page. I overlapped part of the panels and added my title to the very right side. I also  die cut the numbers 2014 for the bottom part of each panel.

Here is how I created my page:

1. I started off with one of my favorite papers which is the Hay Ride paper from the  Scrumptious collection as the background paper for my page.

2. I cut out four main panels in Kraft paper with a width of about 2.5" and varying lengths.

3. I added some die cut tags and die cut numbers in coordinating patterned paper to be at the ends of my page.

4. I printed off five of my memories from 2014 and added them at various spots on my page.

5. I added my title and embellished my page with many banners, triangles and other fun stickers.

Here is one more layout I am sharing which I created about my son when he makes his Christmas list. I also uses the same basic layout of the sketch.

Hey there!  Missy here with you today.  I love getting into the Christmas spirit, and working with the beautiful and bright Jolly Good collection puts me in the holiday mood.  I love that this line is fun and whimsical, and these pictures of my sweet little girl in her pink Santa shirt coordinated perfectly!

Have you seen the FREE printable tags from the Jolly Good line yet?  I used four of them that I printed onto white cardstock.  They are super easy to print and use!

Heidi has created an adorable poster and  some fun printable tags. Here is a preview of them.

I used two in my top right cluster and I layered two to the right of my photos.

Supplies Used: Jolly Good Printable Tags, JG140S04 Sweater Weather, JG140S09 Snow Play, JG104S08 Holiday, JG140S07 Making Spirits Bright, JG14EB05 Banners, JG14EB06 Tags, JG14EB03 Journal Tags, JG14EB01 Sticker Sheet, JG14EB08 Mini Brads, JG14EB07 Sentiments, JG14ST01 Clear Stamps, Liquitex Gesso, Artist's Loft Watercolors, Faber Castell Gelatos, Crafter's Workshop Stencil, Colorbox Ink, Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Craft Smart Ink, Prima Chalk Ink, Brother Sewing Machine, Coats Thread, Recollections Washi Tape, cord, cardstock, Silhouette Cameo, Black Sharpie Pen.

Here's how I went about creating this layout:

1.  I started with the Sweater Weather patterned paper.  I used the back side because it was pretty neutral.  I coated it with clear gesso.  I used a Crafter's Workshop stencil and a blue gelato to create the blue circles.  I also used watercolors and a few other gelatos to create the colorful background.

Jolly Good

2.  I sorted through the patterned papers and chose a few based on color.  I cut them into long strips to give my photos a base.  I added a few layers behind my photos for some separation and then adhered them.

3.  Here, you can see how I next layered in the two printable tags and a few stickers from the 12x12 Sticker Sheet.  I added some stitching around the edges of the tags.  I decided to use the coordinating stamps as part of my title.  Using chalk inks, I stamped "December," and then hand cut it out.  I popped it up to give it some dimension.

Here's another angle of the layers.

4.  I couldn't resist using these adorable little diamond stickers from the Banners Mini Sticker Sheet.

Mini Stickers Jolly Good

I lightly inked up the edges and scattered them above and below my photos.  I also used the adorable little star stamp here and there.

5.  I wanted to add something to my upper right corner, so I used two more of the printable tags layered on top of a few label stickers.  I added a little banner sticker and a pink brad.

These cute printable tags are really fun and easy to use.  They add fun pops of color to your layout, and they make great layering pieces.  There are lots more to choose from, too!

I hope this inspires you to give them a try on your Christmas projects!  Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

I have a holiday secret.  I LOVE being a secret Santa! I've never been one to rob a bank for thrills, but sneaking up to a door, placing a gift down, ringing the doorbell and running off to hide in a bush is where I get my kicks!

Today for my 12 days of gift wrap I wanted to share the perfect gift wrap for your sneaky secret Santa deliveries. It's pretty, fast to make, and everyone will love them. This door hanger will keep your gift from getting wet in the snow or rain because it's off the ground and it looks so pretty hanging there. Don't you think?!

Heidi Sonboul Door knob Secret Santa Chickaniddy Crafts

Step to create this:

  1. Print out the template on cardstock or cut out the cut file HERE.
  2. Trace the template on your paper and cut it out.
  3. Follow the folding lines and glue together.
  4. Fill the box with candy, gift cards, a small gift and maybe even a fun clue.
  5. Decorate with stickers and ribbon to finish the look.

Come on.... wouldn't you love opening your door to this?! Just think, you could even do this for all your loved neighbors. I hope you have fun this coming Christmas and enjoy the gift of giving. It will truly make your spirits bright! Happy Friday everyone!

Hello Monday and Friends! I hope you had a nice relaxing weekend and that you got everything done on your to do list. In just a little while we will all be putting together those holiday shopping lists and with that thought in mind today I wanted to share my favorite way to wrap a fast "no fuss" present using just a couple supplies. It's amazing what you can do with a piece of pattern paper and yarn!

I know that most people love videos, so here you go. Let me know if you have any questions and I will be happy to help.

I think we all know that the most important gift under the Christmas Tree is from Good o'l Saint Nick, because the legend of him is down right amazing. A nice man magically gets into our homes and leaves us the gift we have been longing for all year long.... yes please!

When planning out this class I got to thinking. I am a BIG fan of magic and have been known to overdo it when it comes to Santa. Wanting others to make a BIG deal about Santa I thought I would share something very special. A perfectly wrapped and sealed letter by Santa.

IMG_0585 (Large)

Chickaniddy Heidi Sonboul christmas Santa Letter (Large)

  1. Start by printing out the template on a piece of cardstock and cut out the pieces you need for the envelope.   SANTA CHRISTMAS ENVELOPE CHICKANIDDY CRAFTS TEMPLATE
  2. If you want to line the envelope like me, simply cut off the side and bottom tabs. Add a good amount of adhesive and glue in place.
  3. Fold in the sides, the bottom, and glue into place.
  4. Pick a pretty ribbon. I decided to use this flashy ribbon covered in glitter and glue it down like this. Once you have closed the envelope, grab your favorite clear stamp font, sealing wax (you can find this in MANY craft stores in their wedding sections) and a match.

IMG_0532 (Large) IMG_0550 (Large)

You know how there are metal plates for stamping in wax? Guess what? You can use clear stamps and it works perfectly! Just follow these steps:

  1. Light the wax stick and let it drip onto the envelope.
  2. Dip on the wax
  3. Make sure to hold it straight. If the flame touches the wax it will burn it and cause the wax to look dirty. Notice the burn spots on the white? This is why you need to hold it straight and NOT at an angle. No worries if you have burnt spots you can just use white paint to clean it up.
  4. let cool for 10 seconds (DO NOT BLOW ON IT)
  5. Place your stamp into the wax and let it stay there for about 1 minute to make sure that the wax has set in place.
  6. Pull the stamp away slowly

So here it is again. Could you imagine how excited your children will be getting a wrapped and perfectly sealed letter from Santa on Christmas morning?! We have done it with our boys and they LOVED breaking open the seal. It's so fancy and cool that I guarantee they will love this! Just pop the letter into the stocking with a note telling them they have been good this year 🙂 It's such a wonderful confidence booster!

Thanks for stopping by and have a Happy Friday!

There is something so cute about a round box. I'm not sure exactly why, but they just are! Wanting to share my love for this, I decided to dedicate day two to round gift boxes. There are so many different ways to create a cute round gift box and today I will show you 3, so let's get started.

2014-11-005 (Large)

Cylinder Box With A Lid -  What I love most about this box is that you can mix and match pattern paper, make it as tall or as short as you want and it's super easy to make. Here are the step by steps:

  1. Print this Chickaniddy Crafts Round Gift Box Template on a piece of 8.5 X 11 card stock. Cut out the templates. Trace them on your pattern paper and cut out the patterns. (You can also use a cut file for the silhouette HERE if you have one).
  2. Fold the teeth on the larger cut-out.
  3. Add adhesive to the teeth and the side tab of the cut-out.
  4. Bring the ends together and glue in place.
  5. Once you have the teeth in place at the bottom of the cylinder box, glue on 1 of the 4 circles to cover the bottom.
  6. To make the lid and make sure it fits right, wrap the thin long strip with the teeth around the already made cylinder box. I like to leave it a little loose, so that it's easy to get on without falling off too easily.
  7. Once to have the teeth in place, slowly glue down the 2nd of the 4 circles to complete the lid. I follow the line or curve of the lid making sure it's on right. Any extra hangover, I trim off
  8. Inside the box and lid, add the remaining two circles. This will allow the box to be stronger and give it a nice finished look.

2014-11-043 (Large)

A Recycled Can:

I'm all about being green and upcycling things around the house. Can I just say that the documentary "Bag It!" changed my life?! Anyway, This Pringles can is the perfect round box for many different gifts. You could roll up a scarf, shirt, or ties. You could fill it with candy or homemade baked cookies. Yes please!

  1. Clean out the can with a wipey and let it dry.
  2. Wrap the can with a pretty paper. I'm using a paper from the Jolly Good collection called Caroling.
  3. Take the lid. Punch two holes with your crop-a-dile, and spray paint ONLY the outside of the lid. Let it dry.
  4. Add a fun ribbon through the holes and tie a knot to keep it in place. Make sure to add any tags you might like before tying the knot.

2014-11-045 (Large)A Round Basket Box:

Couldn't you just die over this darling idea?! It's so easy to make. All you have to do is create the cylinder box from the template (not making the lid) and here comes the fun part:

  1. Cut two 3/4 by 2 inch strips and adhere them to each side of the box. This is to make the sides stronger. Then simply punch a hole and add an eyelet to each side of the box.
  2. I only had black wire, so I sprayed painted mine white and bent it into this shape (it makes it easier to slip through the eyelets).
  3. Slip the end through the eyelet for both sides.
  4. Twist the end of the wire around the handle. I scratched a little of the paint off, so I went back and did a small touch up.

IMG_0424-001 (Large)

Once you have your box in shape, go ahead and add a few stickers with foam tape and tags to personalize them. Each box took me about 5-7 minutes to make and anyone receiving  one will just love it. I mean... could you imagine getting a box like this? And there are so many possibilities with these shaped boxes. Paper towel rolls, round packing tubs and way too many more to name.

Remember these tips are to help you have options when gifting a loved one. Sure it's easier to buy a $1.00 gift bag, but this little extra effort will have a big impact on those you care about. I hope you have enjoyed this class. Oh and make sure to tag us #chickaniddy, if you make something. We'd love to see it!

Have a great month everyone and HAPPY early Thanksgiving!

Happy Friday! Pam with ya today with some projects and a giveaway!!

I love to challenge myself to do different things with my pages. It is what makes scrapbooking fun for me. For October I decided to go for three completely different designs and see what I came up with. Below you will see what I created and how they all differ from each other.

This month's theme is "thankful."  I wanted to create pages for the people I am thankful for, the first one being my son. I was inspired by all of the circle layouts from the craft team last month and this month and created this design.  It features several papers cut out in circles and text added to the circles. I used a text path I bought from two peas in a bucket, when it was still open, to create the text. You can do this with your paper and handwriting if you like. Just cut out a piece of white cardstock to fit the circle and write over it. Simple as that!

My next page features my son again. I am just so thankful for him, he is one the best blessings in my life. For my design I decided to try color blocking again. It has been so long since I tried this and I wanted to create a page with it. I left a small border around all of the papers and added some fun tags, banner, and stickers to my page.

My last page features my husband, who I am so very blessed to have. Our anniversary is very soon. October 30th is our 16th anniversary. For my design of this page, I used a cutting file I created. It is sort of like a die cut argyle/diamond design. I absolutely love the Scrumptious collection and you can see how well the papers matches each other in this layout! This is a great way to use all of those scraps that you have sitting around.

Today I am going to be sharing a few of my creations using the BRAND NEW Scrumptious Collection. I created three layouts with this fun, bright, and festive collection. I remember when Heidi first showed me Scrumptious, I was so excited to CREATE layouts with it! My first page is called "The Patch." I got this inspiration for this one from sort of a corn maze. Well, a very symmetric one at that 😉 . I love combining patterned paper to create my own patterns. The Scrumptious collection is JUST perfect for this page! Take a peek! Pam Callaghan Chickaniddy Crafts Scrumptious The Patch Supply List: Scrumptious: Autumn Haze/ sc14os06, Back to School/ sc14os04, Corn on the Cob/ sc14os12, Family and Friends/ sc14os08, Frolic in the Leaves/ sc14os11, Home Sweet Home/ sc14os02 , New Harvest/ sc14os10, Nutmeg/ sc14os07, Pumpkin Spice/ sc14os03; Scrumptious Embellishments: Alpha Sticker/ sc14eb02 Illustration Stickers/ sc14eb01; Journal Tag/ sc14eb03; Mini Brads/ sc14eb08; Mini Sticker Banners/ 14eb05; Mini Sticker Embellishments/ sc14eb07; Mini Sticker Tags/ sc14eb06.

Next, I created this fun fall layout of my family celebrating Halloween last year. Again, you will see that I love to use TONS of patterned papers together (and sewing too). In this layout and then one above I specifically created this layout to feature those AWESOME brads! I love the way they pop on a page. My favorite thing about Scrumptious collection is everything is coordinated so well. It is easy to combine the papers without getting that cluttered look! Here is my second page. Pam Callaghan Chickaniddy Crafts Scrumptious October Layout Supply List: Scrumptious: Autumn Haze/ sc14os06, Back to School/ sc14os04, Corn on the Cob/ sc14os12, Family and Friends/ sc14os08, Frolic in the Leaves/ sc14os11, Home Sweet Home/ sc14os02 , New Harvest/ sc14os10, Nutmeg/ sc14os07; Scrumptious Embellishments: Die Cut Tags/sc14eb04; Illustration Stickers/ sc14eb01; Mini Brads/ sc14eb08; Mini Sticker Banners/ 14eb05; Mini Sticker Sentiments/ sc14eb07Mini Sitcker Embellishments/ sc14eb07; Mini Sticker Tags/ sc14eb06.

On to my third page which I created a cut file for. This shape sort of reminds me of a spider web so when I created it, I had that in mind. The Scrumptious papers fit into this design so well. You can see how well the colors of the collection make the colors of my photos pop! How cool is that.  I hope you will like our 2nd giveaway. A free cutting file I created.
