August Card Sketch

Pam here and I am sharing the August Card Sketch. I think you will love how the card girls used this. The sketch features lots of layering a hanging banner.

Amy is up first. Check out what she created!

"It's Amy T with my August Sketch Card:

Supplies:  Date Night Paper (DN14OS08, DN14OS12) Twirly Girly Paper (TG14OS07) Twirly Girly Stickers (TG14EB02)

This month's sketch is a great way to combine patterns and colors.  This is so easy to do when you work with one collection.  The main papers on my card are from the Date Night Collection.  The tea cup sticker and sentiment are from the Twirly Girly Collection.

TIP:  Adding cork always adds unbeatable texture to a project.

I love a great sketch challenge, I'm so inspired by all of the layers and elements."

Leigh is our next artist. See what she made!

"Hi there! Leigh here, with my take on the lovely card sketch, using the wonderful Date Night Collection.  I stuck fairly closely to the sketch, but simplified it slightly.

Supplies: Patterned paper (DN14OS12), Date Night 6x6 Collection Pad (DN14PD01),  Clear Stamps (DN14ST01)

I started by layering a panel of the wood plank patterned paper over some white card stock. I die cut a banner from white card stock and then trimmed the "Just the 2 of us" journaling card down to fit on the banner. I die cut the bottom part of the journaling card with the same banner die and trimmed it to fit, as well. The gap in between was hidden by the stamped flowers and leaves, which I stamped onto card stock and fussy cut by hand.

Tip: I tried a new technique to get a few different concentrations of ink on my stamps. The darker leaves and flowers were stamped full strength with dye ink. The lighter ones were inked with the same ink and then stamped onto a damp cloth (a baby wipe would work well, too) and then stamped onto the card stock. It created a lovely effect!

The "happy anniversary" sentiment was cut out from a sheet from the 6x6 collection pad and then I cut out the sides using a banner die."

Lastly, Savannah shares a card based on the sketch!

"Hello, friends:)
Savannah O'Gwynn here today, and I'm sharing my card that was inspired by the August Card Sketch.
I love that sketches "inspire" us--- and for me, this means that on an average I use the sketch less than 75%! LOL! However, for August's sketch, I think I followed it about 85%! I didn't really change much:)

This sketch was just so easy to follow! And I LOOOOOOOVE how the Chickaniddy Date Night papers and stickers made it easy to create this card. The patterned papers and colors are my FAVORITE

To help with the placement of the alpha sticker sentiment, I used the trick of placing each letter on a thin piece of post-it note and then rubbing baby powder on the back. This deactivates the sticky/sticker and allows me to move it around on my card for the best placement!

I really love how this card turned out-- that watch is perfect with the custom sentiment! I hope that you will create something using this fabulous sketch by Pam!!! Thanks so much for stopping by! Be blessed:)"
